At first, we were just looking for a 230 V wand that was legal to sell and use in Europe. We tested everything possible. After a year, we gave up. A little outraged by the poor selection, we decided to make our own.

In recent years, the range of products has improved as the industry has become more mainstream. However, there is still a long way to go between the wands that can provide documentation for Europe’s statutory safety requirements for electrical appliances. Our specialty is to offer a unique product with a focus on safety, quality, and functionality.

Europe Magic Wand is, in my opinion, not just a sex toy. Sex toys are something you use to spice things up in the bedroom. How it started: Depression and a loss of orgasms

When I experienced a major depression more than 10 years ago, I was prescribed anti-depressant medication for a long time. Many side-effects are often associated with antidepressant drugs. I was not severely affected by the many side effects, but struck by one of the most common: I had a very hard time reaching orgasm.

Having to fight for your orgasms does nothing good for depression. With the loss of orgasms, you also miss out on a lot of healthy and stress-reducing hormones.

In guiding yourself out of dissatisfaction, you need to focus on both mental and physical well-being. Sexual well-being is possibly the union of the two and more important than both mindfulness and exercise alone. There is no doubt that when you’re fighting off depression, you need to gather “happiness hormones” in every possible way, and orgasms are super effective. Life hacking at its best.

I am not of the opinion that an orgasm is a prerequisite for a well-functioning sex life. But I believe the inability to reach orgasm can take up so much space in our heads that it becomes a problem.

Fortunately, my boyfriend had not lost his vigor to the mists of depression, so he sought solutions.

Jesper and I have always quickly put thought into action. So, after investigating the market, we found the products offered to European women in no way lived up to either our demands for quality, or the legislation requirements for electrical products, and we decided to do something about it. It took one year to develop the electronics needed for our massager to be accepted for use and sale in Europe. In January 2012, we sold the very first Europe Magic Wand.

Since then, a few others have also made their bid on a wand to the European market. Unfortunately, the industry does not have a long history of registered products. Both consumers and retailers are often completely unaware of their duty to ensure the manufacturer complies with the laws of electrical appliances.

In other industries, it is the retailer who asks the manufacturer for documentation of their goods. It never happens in this industry. Our dealers are often quite surprised when we send a link to documentation showing how our products comply with current legislation.

Consumers would be furious if they discovered they had bought a coffee machine that did not meet statutory safety requirements. I expect the monitoring of our industry will become a demand, and testing (something that we have supplied from day one) a matter of course. This will clear out quite a number of wands on the market.

The popular wand or “magic wand” was introduced by Japanese Hitachi to the American market back in the early ‘70s. Hitachi Magic Wand was produced as a shoulder massager, but quickly became an icon in the “liberation of the female orgasm,” thanks to popular orgasm expert Betty Dodson.
